The Greek-Canadian Games is an annual event which will be held on June 1st-2nd 2024 in Toronto for young people aged 8-14.

About Our Houses

The GCG Houses are made up of four important and influential figures in both Greek mythology:

  • Hercules

  • Athena

  • Apollo

  • Artemis

It is these four figures that altogether symbolize wisdom, courage, strength, skill, and truth - qualities that are important to possess throughout The Games.

Where are the GCGs held?

The GCGs are held annually at a world class sporting facility at Bill Crothers SS at 44 Main St Unionville, Unionville, ON.

How old does one have to be in order to be an athlete or volunteer?

The GCGs encourages all kids aged 8-14 on the date of that years Games to participate as an athlete. As well, all individuals aged 15 and above on the date of that years Games are welcomed to participate as a volunteer.

How are individuals placed into Houses?

The Greek Canadian Games does a random allocation of athletes into the houses to promote fairness and the best chance to meet new friends.

How can one give back to the Greek Canadian Games?

The GCGs are made possible by its athletes, parents, and sponsors. Any involvement in this capacity would be greatly appreciated and we welcome all parents to partake in all the weekend festivities!

What takes place in the Opening and Closing Ceremony Panigiri?

Typically, the Games are kicked off in grand fashion with a blessing of the Games, athlete oath, introduction of its ambassadors and most importantly a thunderous cheer off between the Houses of that year! 

The Closing ceremony consists of announcing medal winners and the prestigious House Cup! In addition, we recognize an act of kindness and love to finish with loads of Greek Dancing!

What do the Sponsorship & Registration fees support?

Sponsorship fees go towards subsidizing athlete registration, equipment, media, venue and t-shirt costs for both athletes and volunteers, coverage for volunteers lunches. Additionally sponsorship goes towards maintenance of website fees, video and social medial coverage for the Games.
